Raven Zaal Deeply Instructed in IIN Core Values

The deeply held belief of Integrative Nutrition founder Joshua Rosenthal in holistic health and wellness has evolved into a mutual passion for thousands of his students like Raven Zaal. Joshua Rosenthal has amassed over 30 years of health and wellness experience since achieving his Masters of Science in Education, and it is from this wealth of experiences that the concept of the Health Coach has arisen. Rosenthal had long experimented with personal changes to his diet and lifestyle, which led him to conclude that food changes everything. Rosenthal determined to spread this message through a new institution, his very own Institute for Integrative Nutrition founded 25 years before in a rented kitchen in New York City.

Raven Zaal is beautifully, passionately adherent to the core values of the Integrative Nutrition philosophy, which calls for each believer to be a proponent of positive change.  The IIN also encourages its devotees to follow their hearts as they do what they love, and to set an example by their own commitment to growth and development.  Integrative Nutrition graduates like Raven Zaal joyfully promote the right to live with the freedom to choose what is individually best, and enter into a covenant to support each other in the movement to better global health. Raven Zaal delights in each new discovery of learning, while she encourages others to find balance in their lives through simple living and philosophies.  The Institute of Integrative Nutrition trains each Health Coach holistically, meaning that Coaches take an integrative approach which deals with all aspects of the client’s spiritual, dietary, nutritional and activity lives.

In addition, Raven Zaal has recently started practicing ButiYoga and Meditation to help with anxiety. She has discovered the practice very helpful in her efforts to become more mindful, focused and rejuvenated throughout the day.

Raven Zaal: Helping Children with Autism

Raven Zaal is the founder and CEO of Healthy Life and Oils. Raven Zaal is a successful wellness coach, a loving wife and, most importantly, the mother of three children.

“My youngest has Autism,” Raven Zaal says, “and I am supportive of groups who teach about advocating for children with special needs!” She has joined in the fight to help all who are affected by autism. In particular, Raven Zaal helps other parents of children with autism, and in doing so, she helps their little ones lead happier, healthier lives.

If your child was born with autism, you have a number of options to help your son or daughter on a daily basis. For example, an experienced parent of an autistic child might start you off with points like those below:

  • The More You Know. Learning about autism spectrum disorders, treatment options and intervention helps you make sound decisions for your child. The more you know, the better equipped you are to fulfill your role as a parent.
  • Understand and Accept Your Child. Understanding what triggers your child’s behaviors and what helps calm your him or her, will help you reduce the frequency of difficult situations. Likewise, accepting your child’s personality makes your role easier than focusing on how your little one is “different” does.

Incorporating tips like those above, and connecting with other parents of autistic children, can help you ensure that your little one grows up happy and well-educated. When touching on the topic as it impacts her own life, Raven Zaal stated: “I’m a big fighter in the special education and autism community, as far as fighting for our kids to get everything they need, so that their education is the best that it can be.”

Essential Oil Sweet Potato Sloppy Joes

Dr. Cori Campbell

I remember my mom making sloppy joes as a kid. I loved it. I knew I could make a mess at the dinner table and I wasn’t going to get in trouble. I mean, the name of dinner said “sloppy” how much better could it get for a kid??

This version of sloppy joes is more paleo based and it has the benefit of pure essential oils for added bonus!

I feel you’ll scarf this down just as much as you did a regular sloppy joe, without your body feeling sloppy. Your kids will love it too!

  1. 4 sweet potatoes (pre-bake these in the oven)
  2. 1/2 yellow onion, chopped small
  3. 1 clove of garlic, minced
  4. 3 celery stalks, chopped
  5. 2 lbs of grass-fed ground beef (or feel free to substitute with ground turkey or chicken)
  6. 1 Tablespoon chili powder
  7. 1-2 drops of doTERRA Cumin essential oil
  8. 1 red pepper…

DiGize Essential Oil

Healthy and Hopeful

digize-oilLooking for natural help with digestive issues? DiGize is the oil to try!

DiGize is my go-to whenever I have an upset tummy or I’m suffering from pregnancy indigestion.  It’s a blend of several different oils creating a powerful combination:

  • Tarragon – traditionally used to fight intestinal parasites
  • Ginger – a very common stomach-calming item, especially helpful with nausea
  • Peppermint – many cultures chew mint leaves or drink mint tea after meals to relax stomach muscles and help with digestion
  • Juniper – helps to detox and cleanse
  • Fennel – stimulates the digestive system and helps prevents gas
  • Anise – shown to help calm spasms and increase the flow of bile
  • Patchouli – very helpful in alleviating nausea
  • Lemongrass – traditionally used for it’s anti-inflammatory properties for the digestive system

I’ll admit it is my least favorite oil in terms of scent (I think it’s the fennel maybe?), but I use it all…
