Holistic health is an alternative approach to fitness that focuses on the overall well-being of people as opposed to just combating symptoms. Holistic coaching uses what are usually considered “alternative” approaches that involve natural remedies and proper diet and exercise to promote wellness.
Holistic health coaches use a wide variety of techniques and treatments to help their clients take a role in their own well-being and health. By being more focused on the well-being of the individual, holistic coaches hope to unlock the natural healing powers of the body to promote wellness. Though much of holistic care focuses on preventative measures, there are plenty of practices used to address health issues.
One tool that holistic health advocates use to help their clients is education. Knowledge can be a powerful weapon, and educating people is a great way to show them how powerful their own body is. Holistic health coaches raise awareness about self-care and how it promotes overall wellness in a person. Many of the techniques used to promote wellness consist of a good diet and exercise program that consists of moderate intensity exercise and natural whole foods. They also focus on spiritual and relationship wellness, which can be mitigated by counseling and psychotherapy.
Other techniques, like acupuncture and chiropractic care, often help alleviate chronic pain problems and promote general well-being. Other practices used include naturopathy, massage therapy, and homeopathy.
