Raven Zaal: Overcoming Emotional Eating

Raven Zaal is a certified Holistic Health coach and the founder of Healthy Life and Oils. She is also a wife, a mother, and entrepreneur, as well as a strong woman who has overcome emotional eating and many of life’s other challenges.

In describing how and why she works with her clients to help change their lives, Raven Zaal noted, “It’s interesting, how everybody’s story is different. I was an emotional eater. If I got [angry], I ate. If I was sad, I ate. If I was frustrated or stressed out in some way shape or form, I ate. It’s just what I did. So I love, love, love working with women who deal with that, because I’ve been there.”

Speaking with such a health coach can help you overcome emotional eating with methods similar to those touched on below:

  • Understand Your Moods. You need to understand what moods lead to emotional eating in order to overcome it. Keep a journal of your moods each time you eat or drink something so that you can identify patterns and understand why you eat when you do.
  • Find Healthy Ways to Cope. Once you understand the negative feelings that lead to eating, find healthier methods of coping with them. For example, if you typically eat when stressed, meditating for ten minutes when you feel stress set in can help you avoid the eating pattern.

Don’t underestimate the power of working with a holistic health coach to help you overcome emotional eating, obesity, anxiety or any of life’s other challenges. Find a coach like Raven Zaal – someone who’s been where you are, and can lead the way to where you want to be.
